(Long Beach, CA) – There could be new rules for some Southern California street vendors. The Long Beach City Council is discussing new regulations that would limit where vendors can set up shop. The rules, discussed at Tuesday’s council meeting, would keep street vendors at least 500 feet away from physical concession booths. They would also need to be ten feet from bike lanes and 100 feet from lifeguard towers. Two state acts have decriminalized street vending. But, individual communities are still allowed to make their own rules.
