(El Segundo, CA) — DirecTV will continue to air Fox programming. “The Hollywood Reporter” says the two companies announced a multi-year carriage renewal that averted a possible blackout of a number of networks including FS1, the Big Ten Network and Fox’s owned-and-operated local stations. The renewal affects 18 markets including Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. Financial terms were not disclosed. The previous deal between Fox Corporation and DirecTV was set to expire Friday at 12 midnight. The agreement comes as Fox airs World Cup soccer matches, the Big Ten College Football Championship and NFL games.
