CA Governor Announces Gas Relief Plan
(Sacramento, CA) — California Governor Gavin Newsom is announcing his plan to address high gas prices and provide relief for drivers. Newsom wants to give out 400 dollar debit cards to offset the high price at the pump.
The package also includes incentive grants to encourage transit agencies to offer free transportation for three months. The governor says his team will meet with capitol legislators in the coming days. If approved, the first payments would not be made until July according to the administration.
Governor Gavin Newsom says the package announced Wednesday is on top of 10-billion dollars already sent out through the Golden State Stimulus.
The plan includes other relief, including incentive grants to public transportation.
