(Los Angeles, CA) — Veteran actor Clarence Williams III is dead at the age of 81. TMZ reports Williams died Friday after a battle with colon cancer. He’s best known for playing Detective Linc Hayes on “Mod Squad,” but he also landed roles in several other TV shows throughout his career including ones in “Star Trek,” “The Cosby Show,” and ” “Miami Vice.” Meanwhile, his film credits include “Purple Rain,” “Half Baked,” and several others.
