Schools To Receive Extra Resource
(Sacramento, CA) — Up to three million COVID-19 rapid antigen tests are coming to California public schools. There is no cost to students or teachers as California looks to ramp up the return of in-person learning, especially in the most disadvantaged school districts. The move comes as part of a partnership between the California COVID-19 Testing Task Force and the California Department of Education. Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent Tony Thurmond pledged the tests will be delivered to school districts hit hardest by the pandemic and provide greater access to farmworkers and communities of color.
