(Washington, DC) — Sailors, soldiers, airmen, Marines and now “guardians.” Vice President Mike Pence says that’s what troops serving in the Space Force will be known as. He made the announcement during a ceremony marking the one-year anniversary of America’s sixth military branch. The service later tweeted “guardians” was selected after a “yearlong process” and going through hundreds of submissions. A graphic also noted it was “chosen by space professionals, for space professionals.”
