Three Bay Area cities are in top tier for vehicle theft

A new ranking of car thefts places three California cities in the top five.

Oakland is No. 1 with 7 cars per thousand people stolen. Hayward is No.  3 and Richmond comes in at No. 4.

All these cities are in the Bay Area.  Irvine came in as the tenth least likely place to have your car stolen

Car thieves continue to target Honda Civics and Acuras, Chevy and Ford trucks as well as Toyota Camrys
