Supervisor Shawn Nelson has heard the allegations that the Orange County Fire Authority ignored two early reports of new flames near where the original Canyon Fire burned.
“Law enforcement helicopters communicating with the Fire Authority and in both instances the allegation, at least, is is that the tips were at least totally ignored or not given their due merit.”
That fire burned 92-hundred acres and took numerous homes with it.
Nelson has summoned fire officials to Tuesday’s meeting to address the allegations. Calls to the Fire Authority have not been returned.
