The four-old-boy caught in the crossfire is in stable but critical condition after a stray bullet hit him while he sat in his car seat. Deputies, including Art Gonzalez, are being credited for giving him a fighting chance.
“I saw the victim in the backseat and determined that based on his severity of his wounds that it would be better to transport him by our patrol car.”
Deputies got the boy to a hospital in about 90 seconds where doctors removed the bullet from his head.
The suspected shooter is under arrest but deputies are still looking for other people involved.
