A wet October in the north is helping ease drought conditions in the state but Southern California is not seeing the benefits.
The longterm forecast for us doesn’t look too good.
“The southern part of the state hasn’t seen the precipitation that you’ve seen in the north.”
Climatologist Deborah Bathke with the National Drought Mitigation Center says the state is now 25-percent out of the drought thanks to the rain but…
“Definitely not out of the woods. California has been in a drought for a long time and really doesn’t just happen over night so, it takes a while to pick up those shortages.”
Though a LA Nina is in the longterm forecast, we may not see the benefits.
