Fred Roggin: Blake Griffin Fight Reflects Narcissism Of Young Players
Clipper forward Blake Griffin is facing four to six weeks off the court after suffering a bone fracture on his hand during an altercation with a teammate at a Toronto restaurant. NBC-4 sportscaster Fred Roggin says the All-Star player’s bad behavior reflects bigger issues facing today’s young players.
“It’s a function of them sabotaging themselves. Blake Griffin is truly one of the great players – young stars in the league. But he comes from a time when millennials have a different view on things and I believe so many of the young guys today come from a world of entitlement: You’ve always been the biggest, you’ve always been the strongest, you’ve always been the best, therefore it’s always about you.”
Griffin got into the fight with Matias Testi, the Clippers’ assistant equipment manager. After hitting Testi, Griffin followed him outside and struck him again. Testi had visible injuries on his face. Roggin was a guest on 790 KABC’s McIntyre in the Morning Show with Doug McIntyre and Terrie Rae Elmer.
